THOUGHTS FOR PRAYER

A Cowboy’s Perspective

A Christian prayer book for everyday life.

There is no single situation in which we must wait to pray. We can come to God when life is peaceful and when it is difficult. We can pray when we need strength, when we are worried about someone we love, when we are searching for encouragement or when we simply want to grow closer to God.

Why a Cowboy’s Perspective?

Horses have been part of Craig’s life since childhood. He learned to ride at his grandmother’s farm and later taught horsemanship at a Christian camp. His interest in horses — and his childhood desire to be a cowboy — eventually became an unexpected source of inspiration for prayer.

Horse tack serves a practical purpose. Every piece has a job. Craig began considering whether these everyday objects could also serve as reminders of spiritual truths and encourage intentional prayer.

That idea became the foundation of this book.

31 Opportunities to Pause and Pray

The prayers in Thoughts for Prayer invite readers to slow down and consider their own relationship with God.

  • Strength
  • Safety and protection
  • Encouragement
  • Rest
  • Trust
  • Everyday challenges
  • Growing closer to God through prayer

The intent is not simply to provide words to repeat. It is to encourage readers to develop a prayer life that becomes increasingly personal, thoughtful and connected to the things they encounter every day.
