Craig Morse is the author of Thoughts for Prayer: A Cowboy’s Perspective, a Christian prayer book inspired by his faith and his lifelong connection with horses.
Born in Seattle as the fourth of six children, Christian author Craig Morse grew up in the Gig Harbor area. Moreover, faith mattered early, and his desire to understand God became a pursuit through study, prayer, and experience.

A Lifelong Connection With Horses
Craig learned to ride horses at his grandmother’s farm. He also spent time teaching horsemanship at a Christian camp and carried with him a longtime fascination with cowboy life.
Years later, that background would become an unexpected part of his spiritual journey. Craig began looking at familiar objects — particularly horse tack — and considering the lessons they might offer as he prayed.
Education and Life Experience
Craig holds two master’s degrees in religious studies and divinity. His professional and personal experiences have also included work in information technology and approximately ten years of lay counseling.
Together, those experiences have given him opportunities to explore faith from several different perspectives: theological, practical and personal.
Thoughts for Prayer
Craig’s first published book, Christian author Craig Morse, grew from a simple question.
Moreover, how can the things we encounter in everyday life remind us to pray?
For Craig, the answer came through something familiar — horses and the equipment used to work with them. Thoughts for Prayer: A Cowboy’s Perspective includes 31 prayers addressing strength, encouragement, safety, rest and other situations readers encounter throughout life.
The larger invitation is for readers to begin discovering their own reminders to pray and to develop a deeper, more personal relationship with God.
More Books to Come
Thoughts for Prayer is intended to be the beginning of a growing collection of books from Craig.
Future projects include a prayer journal as well as an autobiography tentatively titled Different: For the Sake of Christ, which Craig hopes will encourage others in their Christian walk through every season of life.
He is also developing a novel titled When I Walked the Grid-Iron, inspired by his experiences playing football in high school and college.
Additional ideas continue to take shape, many with a theological foundation. Through each project, Craig’s hope is to bring glory to the risen Lord and Savior while offering encouragement to others as they continue their own journey of faith.
Beyond Writing
Craig’s interests include reading, exercise, outdoor activities and pottery, along with spending time with his growing family.
